Greenway's Dual-Wheel Drive "Core" Technology Debuts at the Milan EICMA Two-Wheeler Exhibition
2024/11/07
On November 5th, Greenway was invited to participate in the 2024 EICMA exhibition in Milan, Italy, showcasing its power solutions for electric motorcycles and electric-assisted bicycles. EICMA is one of the world's most influential two-wheeler exhibitions. At this event, Greenway presented safe, intelligent, and eco-friendly micromobility solutions under the theme "Safety, Sustainability, Intelligence".

Dual-Wheel Drive: New Power for Two-Wheelers
Greenway has focused on the micromobility lithium battery sector for 18 years, with products widely used in electric motorcycles and electric-assisted bicycles. Through extensive practical application, Greenway has refined its dual-wheel drive "core" technology. On one hand, it uses 18650 and 21700 small cylindrical cells from major Japanese and Korean companies like LG, Samsung, and Panasonic. On the other hand, it utilizes the 34145 large cylindrical cells, known as the "Gingu Bang" cells, from its subsidiary, K-tech New Energy, to meet the diverse lithium battery needs of electric two-wheelers worldwide.

On September 13, 2022, Honda, the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, announced its electrification strategy for two-wheelers. Honda plans to launch more than 10 electric two-wheeler models globally by 2025, aiming for sales of 1 million units in 2026 and 3.5 million units by 2030, representing 15% of its annual two-wheeler sales. Honda's strategy undoubtedly accelerates the electrification of motorcycles.
Greenway is committed to the trend of electric motorcycles and has been collaborating with Yadea since 2016, providing batteries for its high-end electric motorcycle, the Yadea Z3. With its dual-wheel drive "core" technology, Greenway has embarked on a path of high-end customized lithium battery solutions, offering high-performance power solutions to globally renowned electric motorcycle and electric-assisted bicycle brands.
Safe Travel: Speed and Passion
While lithium batteries provide longer range, faster speeds, and more power for two-wheelers, they also raise safety concerns among users. Greenway is committed to offering safe solutions for electric two-wheelers globally, adhering to the strictest lithium battery safety standards from product design to delivery. These efforts have earned certifications from authoritative bodies and widespread user acclaim.
On October 23, Greenway received China's first CCC certification for lithium batteries for electric bicycles, covering products such as the IMR34145E 12 and IMR34145E 14 large cylindrical cells from the "Gingu Bang" series, and the DZ48N-28EM battery pack. Currently, national standard vehicles equipped with Greenway's CCC-certified batteries have successfully launched, reinforcing the safety barrier for lithium batteries in electric two-wheelers.

Internationally, Greenway's lithium batteries for electric two-wheelers have also been certified by authoritative agencies. On September 23, Greenway's electric-assisted bicycle battery received the world's first PRODUCT SAFETY MARK certification to the EN50604-1 standard, issued by SGS. The European Standards Committee released a new version of the standard for electric-assisted bicycles, EN 15194:2017+A1:2023, on August 23, 2023, which will become mandatory from August 23, 2025. This new standard adopts EN 50604-1 as the sole requirement for EPAC (European electric-assisted bicycle) battery safety.

Green and Environmentally Friendly: Committed to Sustainable Development
The EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 has come into effect, aiming to regulate the entire lifecycle of batteries, offering better protection for both the environment and users, while promoting sustainability. Starting from August 18, 2024, compliance assessments will be mandatory, and batteries without the CE mark will be banned from the EU market. Greenway is dedicated to its mission of “bringing green batteries to every family and every country, keeping the Earth clean”, ensuring that its design and production processes strictly follow international regulations. Greenway’s electric two-wheeler battery products for export to the EU now comply with the required declarations and carry the CE mark.

In terms of design and manufacturing, Greenway has adopted more environmentally friendly solutions, including the use of a solder-free connection technology for battery cells. This not only simplifies the assembly process but also greatly improves the product's maintainability and environmental impact. When a battery malfunctions, localized repairs can be carried out without the need to scrap the entire battery pack, making it easier for the battery to be recycled and reused.
Smart Travel: Offering You A Better Journey
Greenway enhances the travel experience for electric two-wheelers by integrating technology and intelligence into its battery products, allowing users to conveniently monitor battery status anytime, anywhere. In the electric two-wheeler sector, Greenway has independently developed a Battery Management System (BMS) that incorporates IOT smart modules. This enables communication between the battery and smart devices, allowing users to master the battery's operational status in real-time and manage battery health remotely. Additionally, the BMS features an intelligent fast-charging function, enabling quick charging during peak usage times to alleviate power anxiety in practical scenarios.

At the Milan exhibition, Greenway will not only showcase its comprehensive power solutions for electric motorcycles and electric-assisted bicycles, from cells to PACKs, but will also introduce its globally leading aluminum wire welding technology. Greenway warmly invites industry peers to visit Greenway's booth at HALL18 C76 to explore and discuss the future of lithium battery innovations for electric two-wheelers.
