Car batteries are of the special type. They are compact in size and they have the ability of producing much more power than their size. The lead plates are separated in the between by an electrolyte, this electrolyte is thirty to fifty percent of sulfuric acid. The other plate which is also known as the positive plate is made of lead oxide when it is fully charged. The reverse happens in the case of the battery discharging the battery when discharges its charges then displace and travel in the opposite ends. The charges then go from the lead oxide plate and the solution around it to the lead plate which was the negative plate. The electrolyte solution gets contaminated with water this way. When the battery is fully discharged the electrolyte solution that had sulfuric acid in it gets converted to water and the lead plates get converted to lead oxide.
