Page view
Since the time when the Lithium batteries were introduced in the market, there have been some myths going around. Whether it is related to storage of Lithium battery on a cement floor or leaving your phone plugged into a charging point overnight, you must have heard at least one stupid myth about the battery industry.

So, in this article, we will demystify, i.e. expose the Lithium battery myths and understand how we can use the batteries in a safe and secure way. If you use the batteries with proper care and follow the guidelines precisely, then you can increase its lifespan significantly. So, let’s take a look at these batteries.

How To Keep Your Cell Phone Lithium Battery Healthy?

At some point in life, you must have searched how you can keep your cell phone Lithium battery healthy. People often get disappointed with their smartphones only due to battery capacity. Whether it is the phone in your pocket or the laptop in your bag, these devices are transforming our lives. As we rely on them for our every day’s task, it is important that they at least last for a whole day before we need to recharge them.

So, here are some tips that you should consider in order to keep your cell phone Lithium battery healthy.

Understand how your phone battery degrades as it will give you an insight into the solution to keep it healthy for as long as possible. With every charge cycle, the battery degrades slightly. So, the less you drain out the battery, the longer it will last.

Avoid extreme hot and cold temperatures as it can strain the battery and the performance decreases. And never ever leave your cell phone inside the car when it is hot and outside when it is freezing climate in the winter.

Avoid Fast Charging unless your cell phone comes with this feature. It stresses the battery, so you need to charge your cell phone at a slow pace by limiting the current passed through the plugs.

Try as hard as possible not to drain your cell phone battery to 0% and charging it to 100%. The new phones don’t have the memory effect; hence they work in a different way. Keep them above 20% and below 90% as often as possible.

Don’t use the apps that drain the battery faster than others. Such apps are harmful to the device and the battery both.

Consider using the Power Saving Mode as much as possible as it will limit the CPU performance and you will get better battery life.

Customize device settings smartly such as keep a dark theme, reduce the screen time out, keep the screen brightness optimal, etc.

With the new smartphones, you can even check the battery health in the device settings to make changes to the way you use your cell phone.

How Often Should You Charge Your Cell Phone Lithium Battery?

Have someone told you this before that you’ve been charging your cell phone in the wrong way? If not, then you should take a look here. The way you charge the cell phone says a lot about the battery status. So, here are some dos and don’ts for the battery charging process that may or may not know.

?Don’t let your cell phone drain to zero, ever. Even though the Lithium batteries don’t have the memory effect, draining them to zero percent affects their capacity. That’s why it will be better to turn off your phone before it dies.

?Maintain the charge from 40% to 80% as it is the stable range for the charge. Keeping the battery in between this range will ensure that its lifespan is ideal. Also, it will prevent the battery from stressing out and there won’t be any degrading effect on the overall battery.

?If the phone is charged, remember to unplug it from the charger as overcharging can also cause issues. Just think about the scenario that your device battery is at 100%, and then it is auto cut while still plugged in with the charger.  But as the battery drains out to 99%, it will again start charging. This can affect the charge cycle of the battery.

If you remember these points while you are charging your phone, it will be easier to prevent the degradation of the battery and get the best of your cell phone.

Do You Know Some Cell Phone Lithium Battery Care Myths?

As we stated above, from a young age, you must have been hearing some myths about batteries. But as the battery technology has become advanced, some of the myths are no longer true. So, here are some popular myths of the lithium battery and we are going to tell you if they are true or not.

Using Other Brands Charger Have A Negative Impact On The Battery- False.

Using knockoffs is dangerous but you can use the charger of other brands with the same specifications without any worries.

Never Use Your Phone During Charging- False

People say not to use the phone as it leads to an explosion or some other accident. But it happens when you are using a low-quality duplicate charger.

Overnight Charging Is Bad- True

While it won’t have a bad impact as you think, but it certainly affects the lifespan slightly. You can safely leave your phone on charging overnight as the cell phones have an Auto-cut feature. Still, to be on the safe side, avoid charging your phone more than 80%.

Turning Off Isn’t Necessary- False
