Battery Calibration- Introduction, Windows Phone and App

Page view

Having a mobile phone is already something that is considered as normal already, as we use mobile phones for our daily activities. Seeing it’s an important object for all of us, it’s not a surprise that the cell phone becomes something that's endearing for many people. It would be a disaster if the phone’s battery goes wrong and starts to affect the phone’s performance. If the case just now happened to you ,no need to worry, as battery calibration can be the solution to your problem.

  Phone Battery Calibration Not Working

In order to understand what calibration is all about, we will need to step back and understand the concept of batteries first.

When the phone displays the battery, it is more than just displaying the battery’s life. What actually stores the energy is the chemical inside the battery, and the phone is the one that reads the chemical. Then, they inform us of the information they get from the chemical by displaying the amount of energy that’s left by the chemical.

However, as the time passes by, we will be charging the battery more and more. This also results in the phone’s reading accuracy of the battery lessening as well. Eventually, there will be some kind of misinformation where the chemical and the phone do not connect properly. That’s when we need to calibrate our phone.

No need to word about calibration, because the concept is not as complicated as it sounds. Within cell phones, especially Samsung cellphones, there is a feature called Battery Stats. Battery stats is the one that reads the chemical and shows us the result of its reading.

For example, we have a battery cell phone that can last us for several minutes before completely shutting down due to the lack of energy. However, if the cellphone misread the reading, it can result in the phone’s system shutting itself off already because it thinks that the battery is already dead.

When the case above happens, it’s time for us to calibrate our phone. Calibrate can help the phone to get a more accurate reading of the battery again.

However, there might be times where you calibrate your battery but ends up having it not calibrated at all. If this case applies to you, it’s probably because the cellphone doesn’t need calibration at all. There are occasions where the cellphone’s smart chips and systems allow the battery to be calibrated without having to do it in the traditional method.

So, if the calibration doesn’t doesn’t work, it doesn’t mean that the phone is not calibrated. It might be because the phone is already calibrated, hence the non-obvious result.

  Windows Phone Battery Calibration

Now that we know what calibration is, it’s time to calibrate our batteries! Calibration can be done to any kind of phone, whether it’s iOS, Android, or Windows (although Windows phones are rare to find these days since they are no longer produced). However, calibration is mostly done to Android phones.

Here are some ways to calibrate Android phones

  Calibrating With Root Access

1.Discharge the battery until it’s fully off.

2.Turn it on, and then off again.

3.Charge your phone until it reaches one hundred percent without ever turning the screen on.

  4.Unclog charger.

5.Turn on your phone. If it doesn’t say one hundred percent, charge it again until it says so (no need to turn off the phone for this).

6.Unplug and restart the phone. Keep charging, unplugging, and restarting the phone until it fully reaches one hundred percent. Even if it’s impossible to reach one hundred percent, make sure the battery’s number is as close as one hundred percent possible.

7.Install a battery calibration application, then restart.

8.Launched the application as soon as possible once the phone is on.

9.After you’ve calibrated the phone with the app, discharge the battery until it goes down to 0 and let the phone turn itself off

10.Charge the battery without interruption until it reaches one hundred percent. The system will be restarted.

  Calibrating Without Root Access

If your phone doesn’t have root access, here is how you do it:

7.Discharge the battery until it goes down to 0 and let the phone turn itself off

8.Charge the battery without interruption until it reaches one hundred percent. The system will be restarted.

  Pretty easy, isn’t it?

  Phone Battery Calibration App

If your phone has root access, there is a step where you’re supposed to use a calibration application. Here are some recommendations we suggest for the calibration app:

  1. Battery Calibration

Developed by IMobS, battery calibration is probably the most well-known calibration app on the Play Store. The perks of the app is the fact that we can calibrate our phone while we are using it for something else, such as playing games.

Another perk Battery Calibration has is the assessment option, where the application can guess the battery’s status.

  2. Battery HD+

What makes Battery HD+ unique is the beautiful graphs they offer. The application also has a widget that automatically shows you the battery’s status and other things related to calibration. If appearance matters for you, then go for Battery HD+

Battery calibration is not hard. However, we need to calibrate our batteries in proper steps, or else the calibration won’t work properly. We should also take other matters, such as the calibration application used, into consideration. So, ready to calibrate your battery and phone?
